Quantum computing makes no sense.
23 February 2006
According to the New Scientist, researchers have developed a type of quantum computer that is able to provide an answer to a problem even when it isn't running. For those of you not familiar with this field of information technology, the word 'quantum' means: extremely weird stuff that you haven't got a hope in hell of understanding without a PhD in sub-atomic particle physics.
Comments:
Yeah, I'm afraid I don't understand at all, but it might be that this sentence isn't simply going over my head, maybe it's also edited badly? I really hope it's the subs at NS and not my brain:
"With the right set-up, the theory suggested, the computer would sometimes get an answer out of the computer even though the program did not run."
Mind you, i definitely understand this bit!
"A non-running computer produces fewer errors."
